I officially declare Bacon Salt the best seasoning ever.
When I found out about bacon salt a few days ago, I knew I just had to buy some. Bacon Salt, is, as its name implies, a seasoning that imparts the savory flavor of bacon onto anything. And having just purchased all three available flavors (original, hickory, and peppered), I could say with full honesty that this stuff tastes and smells like genuine bacon (and you all know how much I love bacon). What's more, it's vegetarian, kosher-approved, zero calorie, zero fat, and has less sodium than table salt. In short, it is the seasoning of the gods. Having only got the bottles today, I have so far only tried bacon salt on scrambled eggs (I mixed it into the eggs before cooking) and a baked potato. Tonight I am going to try it on a pan-seared chicken breast and a caesar salad, and I look forward to doing some grilling with this stuff. I'm also halfway tempted to try some of the more adventurous recipes I've seen so far: bacon flavored ice cream, or bacon salt on watermelon. Because as the slogan goes, "Everything should taste like bacon." Amen to that. The only better thing would be bacon flavored air.
